The Homestead City Council recently approved several measures involving the Seminole Theatre, Harris Field and funding for family and neighborhood support services in South Dade.
The Council approved an agreement with Pinnacle Venue Services for the management and operation of the Seminole Theatre.
The Seminole Theatre Management Agreement was initially presented to the Council on Oct. 22, 2025, when members provided direction regarding the agreement’s termination provisions. Those provisions were subsequently revised and negotiated with Pinnacle.
The agreement provides for a $42,000 management fee for the first operating year, a $58,333.33 operating expense allocation, a $50,000 capital improvement fund and a $28,000 incentive fee.
The first-year fiscal impact is $178,333.33.
The Council also approved a $140,982 contract with A-1 Property Services Group for replacement of the Harris Field Building roof.
The project includes removal of the existing roof and installation of a new roofing system. The contractor will provide the labor, materials, equipment, permits, supervision, engineering coordination and other services necessary to complete the work.
Council members also approved a resolution accepting a grant award from The Children’s Trust for family and neighborhood support partnerships and authorizing the city manager to execute a grant amendment.
The resolution establishes a $728,000 budget for the receipt and expenditure of the grant funds.
The program operates through the Safe Families Partnership Network, a collaboration of community-based organizations led by the City of Homestead.
The network provides individualized wraparound services for children, youth and families in Deep South Dade who have been affected by violence or are facing significant social, educational, health and economic challenges.
Services address issues including child abuse and neglect, family and community trauma, domestic and sexual violence, mental health needs, and legal and identity-related problems.
