SOCSOUTH Honors September 11 Victims with 140 Mile Relay Run from Key West to Homestead Air Base

The Homestead-based Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) commemorated the tragic events of September 11, 2001 with a relay run from the famed Southernmost point buoy in Key West to Homestead Air Reserve Base. The 140 mile relay run is in honor of the victims of the events of the national tragedy that occurred 13 years ago. There is approximately 70 runners who will participate in the relay run.

Last year, SOCSOUTH completed the trek in 22 hours and 30 minutes. This year, they are hoping to improve the time in what they hope to continue as a yearly tradition.
