Cruise Terminal

Construction is underway on a new major cruise terminal at PortMiami.

Miami-Dade County leaders, including Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, PortMiami Director and CEO Hydi Webb, and Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the future Cruise Terminal G.

The project includes the design-build delivery of a state-of-the-art cruise terminal for Royal Caribbean Group with the capacity to accommodate up to 7,000 passengers. The terminal will feature a multi-level parking garage, an intermodal facility, and other supporting infrastructure designed to serve large cruise ships, including Icon-class vessels.

Construction is being completed by Lemartec-NV2A Joint Venture in partnership with Perez & Perez Architects & Planners.

“This world-class facility will enhance Miami-Dade County’s skyline while marking another milestone in PortMiami’s evolution,” Mayor Cava said. “Our modern terminals are transforming how we do business and move people, delivering greater efficiency through innovative technology.”

The project represents a total investment of $345 million and will be dedicated to Royal Caribbean Group while maintaining multi-vessel functionality. Designed as a single-berth terminal, the facility is intended to enable efficient embarkation and disembarkation through the integration of advanced cruise terminal construction techniques, energy-efficient systems, and an enhanced passenger experience.

“Cruise Terminal G represents a major investment in Miami’s future,” Liberty said. “Built with advanced technology and sustainable design, this new facility will deliver a smarter, faster, and more seamless experience for guests sailing with our industry-leading brands: Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea. It reflects our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and responsible growth while creating jobs and supporting the local economy.”

Beyond supporting Miami’s leadership in the global cruise industry, the new terminal’s architecture is expected to contribute to the evolving PortMiami skyline and align with a growing trend of landmark waterfront development. County officials said the project adds value to PortMiami’s existing terminal infrastructure and strengthens Miami’s position as the Cruise Capital of the World.

Cruise Terminal G is scheduled for completion in late 2027. Funding for the project is provided through a partnership between Miami-Dade County and Royal Caribbean Group.

Officials said the investment is intended to meet future demand, accommodate next-generation cruise ships, and deliver a more streamlined experience for cruise passengers.
