Office sought: House District 119
Election date: Nov. 3, 2026
Campaign website: rey4florida.org
Why are you running for House District 119?
I’m running because this is my home, and I refuse to accept that the people who built their lives here should have to leave just to afford a future.
I grew up here. I went to our public schools. My family worked incredibly hard to build a life here, and I know families across this district are doing the same thing every day. But people are working harder, paying more, sitting in worse traffic, and wondering whether their kids will ever be able to afford the community they grew up in.
I’m running because I believe government should make people’s lives better, not make them feel forgotten.
District 119 deserves someone who will fight for people before politics.
What are the three most important issues currently facing residents in District 119?
Affordability, responsible growth, and quality of life.
Families are getting crushed by property insurance, housing costs, groceries, and everyday expenses. Meanwhile, development continues while our roads, infrastructure, schools, parks, and transportation struggle to keep up.
Growth itself is not the enemy. Growth without a plan is. We need to make sure the community we are building is one that working families, young people, and seniors can actually afford to live in and enjoy.
What experience best prepares you to serve in the Florida House?
I know what it means to work for a living. I’m a Miami-Dade public school graduate, a student and small-business owner who works nights in the service industry.
I’ve watched my parents work for everything they have and felt many pressures residents face.
Tallahassee needs people who understand what bills, insurance, traffic and rising costs mean in daily life.
What would be your first major priority if elected?
My first priority would be judging every decision by whether it helps the people I represent. I would represent everyone in District 119, not only Democrats or those who voted for me.
Politics has become too comfortable dividing neighbors and governing only for supporters. Whether the issue is affordability, insurance, education, traffic or the environment, residents deserve someone in Tallahassee fighting for all of them.
How would you address affordability, development, traffic, infrastructure and quality of life?
These problems are connected. We cannot build homes without addressing roads, schools, drainage, infrastructure and whether those homes are affordable to insure. I will fight for meaningful property-insurance reform, responsible development, infrastructure investment and better state-local coordination.
Development should serve current residents while preparing responsibly for those who will call this community home tomorrow.
How do you plan to remain accessible and accountable to District 119 residents?
By showing up. I want regular office hours, town halls, neighborhood visits and an office that answers residents. People should know what I’m working on, how I voted and why. Representation cannot mean appearing every two years to ask for votes. Residents deserve to see me, reach me, question me and hold me accountable.
What distinguishes you from the other candidates in this race?
I’m not running because I think I’m owed an office. I’m 27, grew up here and want people my age to believe they can build a future here. My generation has watched politics grow louder while life became harder. I want to bring urgency, energy and a willingness to work with anyone who wants to help. I don’t care who receives credit for a good idea; I care whether it works.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know?
I love this community deeply. My family came to this country seeking freedom and opportunity, and South Florida gave us a place to build a life. I want every child growing up here to believe they can do the same.
We may disagree politically, but we share the same roads, schools, stores and community. I will listen, show up, work like hell and never forget who sent me there.
People over politics. Always.
