77th annual Homestead championship rodeo - 2

South Florida’s most iconic western tradition returns later this month as the 77th Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo rides into town for a full weekend of pageantry, competition, and community celebration.

The annual event brings together generations of rodeo fans for a slate of activities highlighting Homestead’s western heritage, civic pride, and nationally recognized rodeo competition.

Miss Rodeo Homestead Pageant Opens Festivities

The celebration begins Saturday, Jan. 24, with the Miss Rodeo Homestead Pageant, themed “Boots and Bling.” The pageant will take place at 5 p.m. at the Harris Field Pavilion, located at 1034 NE Eighth St.

Homestead Vice Mayor Jenifer Bailey will serve as one of the judges, helping crown the next Miss Rodeo Homestead.

Friday Night Rodeo Supports Breast Cancer Awareness

Rodeo action officially kicks off Friday, Jan. 30, with the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” performance in support of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Wrangler program and the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

Gates open at 6 p.m., with the performance beginning at 8 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness while enjoying an evening of rodeo competition.

Saturday Parade, Rodeo and Dedication Day

Saturday, Jan. 31, begins with the Homestead Rodeo Parade at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Homestead. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, and community groups, offering family-friendly entertainment for residents and visitors.

Following the parade, rodeo events continue at the arena, with gates opening at noon and the performance beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday’s event is designated Dedication Day, honoring late members of the Homestead Rodeo Association and members of the local community whose contributions helped shape the rodeo’s legacy.

The evening concludes with the Homestead Rodeo Prime Rib Dinner and Dance at 6 p.m., a long-standing tradition nearly as old as the rodeo itself. Tickets for the dinner and dance are limited due to venue size, and early purchase is recommended.

Sunday Honors National Patriot Day

The final performance takes place Sunday, Feb. 1, in recognition of Wrangler National Patriot Day. Gates open at noon, with the rodeo beginning at 2 p.m.

The event honors America’s wounded and fallen service members and their families. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue as a show of patriotism and gratitude.

From pageantry and parades to dedication ceremonies and professional competition, the 77th Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo promises a weekend rooted in tradition, remembrance, and community pride.
