Pilots and Airmen from the 482nd fighter Wing’s Makos help get Sunday’s Pre-Race Ceremony off to a literal bang. First, with a loud afterburner two-ship pass to begin driver introductions, followed by a formation pass during the National Anthem, the crowd got to see F-16 Fighting Falcons show their stuff.
LTC Tim “Taser” Killham, Flight Lead, told the News Leader by email “We’re privileged to demonstrate precision airpower with F-16s from the Makos of the 93rd fighter Squadron. It’s especially enjoyable when we can do so for the local Homestead Community where many of our pilots, maintainers, and support Airmen live as well.”
Flying the second F-16 was Captain Scot Goldfein. Ground crews for the aircraft were MSgt Chris Wilton, SSgt John Joyce, A1C Aaron Alleyne, A1C Adnrew McKnight, and A1C Gabreil Fernandez.
