On September 30, 2026, Florida’s minimum wage will increase from $14 to $15 per hour.
The minimum cash wage for tipped employees will rise from $10.98 to $11.98.
After this year, future adjustments will be tied to inflation. This is the last of the scheduled $1 increases Florida voters approved in 2020.
With about a week to go, a quick payroll check now can save you corrections later.
Before September 30, review:
- Hourly rates for every employee currently paid below $15
- Tipped employee wages and tip credits
- Payroll and timekeeping settings, especially any pay period that includes September 30, since those hours must be paid at both the old and new rates
- Required workplace posters
- Labor costs and staffing plans for the fourth quarter
For small businesses, even a $1 increase can affect payroll, pricing and operating costs.
If anything on this list raises a question, reach out to your HR or payroll provider this week.
