The Top Seniors for Class of 2026.

Homestead Senior High School has some top-notch graduating seniors who are expected to go on to success in college and their careers. Many of the leading graduates are planning careers in healthcare.

Tatiana Hernandez was president of the Homestead High Student Government Association and is in the top five percent of her class with a 5.5 grade point average (GPA). She was a member of the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and vice president of Girls Leading Our World (GLOW).

“I have enjoyed my time at Homestead High and loved being a leader in SGA. I will attend FAMU in the fall and study nursing,” said Hernandez.

Mariah Smoke is the Homestead High salutatorian with a GPA of 4.8 and was active in Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“I really enjoyed studying English and I will attend the University of North Florida and study nursing,” she said.

Tamia Nesmith was president of the senior class and was in the top 10 percent academically in her class.

“We planned many successful events including the prom, senior breakfast and other events. I worked to help people in my class stay motivated,” she said.

Nesmith was also a Bronco Ambassador and vice president of First Priority. She will attend North Carolina Central University in the fall.

Jaslen Jackson earned a 4.1 GPA and received the Superintendent’s Diploma. She was a leader in the math and reading honor societies and will attend Bethune-Cookman University in the fall.

Tavaria Davis finished in the top 15 percent of her class with a 3.9 GPA. She was the class historian, a member of GLOW and the Black Student Union.

“I took a lot of pictures of class events and documented class history,” she said. “I will attend Clark Atlanta University.”

Jeremiah Richard was a leader on the track team. He was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that earned third place at the state championship. He competed in the 4x100 relay, the 400-meter run and the 200-meter run.

He earned a 3.2 GPA and was a member of the Bronco Ambassadors, the Black Student Union and 5000 Role Models.

“I want to study to become a firefighter after high school,” he said.

Jamari McKnight was captain of the Homestead High track team and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that took third place at the state championship. He competed in the 400-meter and 200-meter runs and was senior class secretary.

He was also secretary of the Black Student Union and a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“I am going to St. Thomas University next fall where I will be on the track team and study kinesiology,” he said.
