SDNL Foodie Score: 9.9/10
Sunset Eats at Palmetto Bay has quickly become one of those places where I show up intending to casually check out a few vendors and somehow leave carrying enough food to justify an entire Foodie Corner.
Casa Glaze caught my attention with its Biscoff Cookie Banana Pudding, which was already taking a slight risk with me because I am genuinely not the biggest fan of bananas. When I am choosing dessert, banana anything is rarely going to beat chocolate, cookies or something dangerously full of caramel.
Casa Glaze may have changed that ranking a little.
The first thing I noticed was how light the pudding was. Banana pudding can easily become heavy, overly sweet or so aggressively banana-flavored that there is nothing else happening. This was the opposite. The texture was soft and fluffy, and the banana flavor was present without taking over the entire dessert.
Then the Biscoff came in.
That warm, spiced cookie flavor gave the pudding another layer and kept it from becoming one-note. The combination worked because neither side overpowered the other. You still knew you were eating banana pudding, but the Biscoff brought enough personality that even somebody who normally would not order it could get into it.
Apparently, very into it.
I remember taking the first few bites and thinking it was good. Then I looked down and realized I had somehow eaten the entire thing.
There had been opportunities to share.
I did not take them.
And frankly, I have no regrets.
Sometimes a dessert wins you over through presentation or some elaborate combination of ingredients. Other times, it simply tastes good enough that you stop paying attention and suddenly discover you have scraped the container clean.
Casa Glaze accomplished the latter.
Foodie Verdict: Order your own. I will not be sharing mine.
