The Cavaliers and Heat aren't the only teams waiting for LeBron James to announce his decision.
If James chooses to return to Cleveland, it increases the chances Chris Bosh leaves Miami for a maximum contract with the Rockets. For that to happen, Houston would need to dump salary, which is where the Sixers could become involved.
Libertyballers.com has reported that the Sixers, who are more than $30 million under the league's $63 million salary cap, and Rockets had “agreed in principle” to a deal in which the Sixers would get guard Jeremy Lin and a future first-rounder, provided Houston needs the cap space to sign a max player.
Lin is owed $14.9 million next season in the final year of his contract, though his cap hit would be $8.4 million. It's unclear if Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie would hold onto Lin or waive him if the trade would happen.
If James returns to Miami, Bosh would seem more likely to also stay in South Florida. James hadn't announced his choice as of Friday morning.
