Palmer Trinity Dominates Marathon; Westminster Topples Key West In Spring Football Game

After a season of great change for the Palmer Trinity Falcons football team, their spring football matchup with Marathon provided yet further proof of their return to glory.

Facing their foes from the Keys, Palmer Trinity dominated their way to a 20-0 victory in front of a roaring home crowd.

No doubt the defense was the star of the show, shutting out the Dolphins in a four-quarter clinic.

Linebacker Zack Perkins led the way with hard hitting play, while teammates Guillermo Bonet and JD Erixon made key interceptions in the game.

On offense, Blake Miller rushed for a game-high 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Dylan DiBello scored a touchdown as well, running in from 17 yards out for a score in the fourth quarter.

DiBello finished going 7-for-15 for 76 yards.

Bonet hauled in six catches to lead the receivers with 70 yards.

Westminster Drops Key West

Westminster Christian showed that their football team hasn’t missed a beat during the off-season, powering their way to a 32-16 victory over Key West.

In a game that saw an unusually high number of penalties against Key West, the Warriors used a balanced attack to put the game away.

While there was no kicking in the game, Key West opened up the scoring with a long 70 yard drive all the way to the endzone.

Daren Jones and the Warriors answered in quick response, marching all the way down the field to a game-tying touchdown.

Jones went on to have a monster outing, continued when the Warriors capitalized on a fumble by Key West.

After another Jones score, Westminster quarterback Christian Matos led the warriors from there, scoring two more times before the half.

Key West scored in the opening of the third quarter, but the Warriors added another touchdown by Jones as time ran out in the game to seal the game away.
