Several high school softball players were recently named to the All-State teams in several classifications, with a wide variety of local players listed with awards.

  Westminster Christian led the way with three players recognized.

  Ally Mena was named to the Class 3A All-State First Team, as well as being recognized as the Plaer of the Year.

  Nikkia Benitez joined Mena on the First Team, while Carlin Labuzan was recognized with Second Team honors.

  In Class 8A, five players from two different schools were recognized.

  South Dade was represented by Thea Ramirez’s First Team selection.

  Coral Reef standout Carsyn Gordon was also awarded First Team status.

  Fellow Lady Cuda players Michelle Mesa, Kylan Becker, and Cristina Colli were all recognized with Second Team awards as well.

  Both Westminster Christian and Coral Reef were runners-up in their respective state classifications.
