On October 14, NASCAR and Homestead-Miami Speedway announced a partnership with world-renowned artist and founder of the Happy Art Movement, Romero Britto.

At the event held in the Romero Britto Fine Art Gallery, Homestead-Miami Speedway President Guillermo Santa Cruz told attendees, “It's truly something unique that we are bringing to life. It is truly a unique partnership, and on behalf of NASCAR, and the Homestead-Miami Speedway, we are all truly grateful for your help, for your support, for your creativity, and most of all, for your friendship. Romero's artwork is instantly recognizable around the world, and we're bringing that same creativity and energy to America's Racing Paradise in a way we've never done before.

“There are several key elements to this partnership that we're proud to share with you today. First of all, we're going to be unveiling a one-of-a-kind trophy that will be raised at Victory Lane on November 8th. It is our Homestead Cup Series Championship Trophy. A unique design, something that I've never seen before in NASCAR, that will really merge our two worlds, the artistic world and the speed and the excitement of NASCAR.

“Additionally, and this is being installed as we speak, friends will be welcomed to the track by a larger-than-life mural on our iconic tower. It is the largest installation anywhere of Britto artwork. It is something that's going to decorate our track for years to come. And it's something that really showcases the relationship that we have and the friendship that we have.”

In addition to the mural and the trophy, NASCAR and Britto will collaborate on a licensed merchandise collection. NASCAR’s press release described the collaboration:

“Bold art meets high-speed adrenaline as BRITTO X NASCAR debuts a new licensed product collaboration on-site at NASCAR Championship Weekend in Miami. Spanning apparel, headwear and novelty items, the collection pairs BRITTO’s vibrant colors, playful patterns and unmistakable optimism with the power, passion and color of NASCAR racing.”

Britto told the group, “NASCAR is so big, and it's such part of American culture, and being part of this event for me is really extraordinary. I'm very honored to be invited. NASCAR is so special to me because I love cars and I love races. It's a historical moment for me, for my art, and I'm sure that every NASCAR fan is going to enjoy seeing the colors of this gigantic mural, the largest mural that I have ever created. Thank you so much to everybody who has made this great event possible and invited me to be on this journey. Thank you.”

The mural painted on the eight-story tower is already visible to everyone driving on Speedway/Ralph Sanchez Boulevard toward the track.
