SARASOTA, Fla. -- The subject of whether the Washington Redskins NFL team should retain its team name has been a growing issue as of late. Â But what about other regional teams using the same name?
Just this week, the U.S. Patent Office has ruled the Washington Redskins nickname is "disparaging of Native Americans" and that the team's federal trademarks for the name must be canceled.
This could affect Sarasota's Ringling Redskins youth sports league.
