Five decades of dedication to fellow veterans and the community were celebrated recently as Arrant-Smith Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4127 recognized Fidiberto Soto for reaching an extraordinary milestone: 50 years of VFW membership.

Soto was honored during the post's monthly meeting, where members gathered to recognize his longstanding commitment to an organization dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families.

Reaching the half-century mark represents more than simply maintaining membership. It reflects decades of camaraderie, service and dedication to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Soto, who recently joined Arrant-Smith Post 4127, was welcomed into the Homestead organization as members celebrated his impressive history with the VFW.

The recognition also highlighted the importance of preserving the traditions of veterans' organizations, where longtime members help carry forward a legacy of service and fellowship for future generations.

Known throughout the community as "The Friendly Post," Arrant-Smith VFW Post 4127 continues to provide veterans with opportunities for fellowship, community involvement and access to information about available benefits and resources.

The post is led by Commander Justin Karalfa, with Alicia Martinez serving as adjutant, chaplain and benefits advisor.

Located at 601 NE Second Road in Homestead, Post 4127 welcomes eligible veterans interested in becoming members and participating in its activities.
