Zoo Miami announced the birth of a southern hairy-nosed wombat, the first successful birth of the species in Zoo Miami history and the only successful birth of this species in the United States this year.
The female joey is estimated to have been born Jan. 19 to first-time parents Gordon and Adelaid.
Wombats are marsupials and the only mammals known to produce cube-shaped poop!
