South Dade Senior High student Victor Marshall Nash, 18, has been arrested for attempted murder, sexual battery, robbery, and grand theft of a vehicle.
Nash was arrested on Friday by Miami-Dade Schools Police.
Sources say the victim of the attack was a teacher at the school.
According to the arrest report, Nash grabbed the victim inside a room on campus and body slammed her to the ground, then choked her until she was unconscious.
Then, Nash pulled the woman's pants and underwear down and had sex with her while she was unconscious, leaving his used condom in her purse.
Nash then stole the woman's car keys, but was found by police five hours later while driving her car along SW 312th St. and US1.
“Our thoughts are with the victim during this difficult time,” said Miami-Dade County Public Schools in a statement. “Because of the nature of the incident, we are compelled to protect her privacy rights.
Counselors will be at the school Monday and classes will continue as scheduled according to officials.
United Teachers of Dade released a statement, echoing the concerns of others.
"We are shocked and dismayed by the event reported at South Dade Senior High," they said. "Our schools should be a place of safety and serenity, not only for students, but the adults who work there as well."
Miami-Dade Schools Police are working with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in the investigation of the incident.
