Volunteers Paint at Redland Middle School

City Year, Inc. is the only national organization placing trained young adults (ages 17-24) in high-need schools for a year of full-time service as tutors, mentors, and role models to students who exhibit early warning indicators of dropping out of school.

City Year Miami currently serves over 6,500 at-risk students in 18 high-need school communities from Homestead to MiamiGardens.

Specifically, 6 schools in the southern region of Miami.

Redland Middle is one of those schools.

The BAC Service Day was a beautification project that was first initiated by the principle Mr. Hankerson.

He wanted to give some inspiration to the students of Redland Middle in a way that would cultivate motivation and spark a passion for learning.

Redland Middle Corps Members were ready and able to assist on the project.

By establishing a partnerships with the BAC Florida Bank, the project was in motion and the date was set.

The painting of 15 quotes all around the school, was completed by 30 passionate individuals from City Year Miami and the BAC Florida Bank.
