Rick Scott

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The administration of Gov. Rick Scott is once again being sued over public records.

AT&T and another company have filed a lawsuit contending that a state agency and a rival company are refusing to turn over information surrounding a nearly $400 million state contract.

AT&T is challenging a decision by the Department of Management Services to award a seven-year contract for the state's main internet service to a subsidiary of Florida-based Harris Corp. AT&T has the current contract which expires in 2016.

But AT&T and Embarq Florida contend in a separate lawsuit filed Thursday that Scott's administration is refusing to turn over detailed information submitted by the winning bidder. The lawsuit filed in circuit court in Leon County also says the state agency has refused to turn over requested emails.

The state contends it's because that business information is confidential.
