Florida City is getting ready for a hugely festive parade on December 16.
Mayor Otis Wallace is excited about this event and said there will be about 40 entries this year.
The marching bands from South Dade and Homestead Senior High Schools will participate. There will be vintage cars, a 1955 fire truck and Homestead and Florida City police units.
The parade will go through the City. “This will be a fun and exciting parade,” said Mayor Otis Wallace. “Then we will have a big party at Loren Roberts Park. There will be a toy giveaway and fun activities for the children.”
The Christmas Party and Parade has been a tradition in Florida City for years.
Note: Because of inclement weather, the Florida City Christmas Parade and Toy Giveaway was rescheduled for Saturday, December 23, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
