Cutting the ribbon at the ceremony.

The Town of Cutler Bay recently held a ribbon cutting to welcome Baptist Health’s newest facility. The new healthcare center, located at the Shoppes of Cutler Bay at 20997 Old Cutler Road, brings world-class medical services to the heart of the community, ensuring that residents have access to high-quality care close to home. City leaders, Baptist Health executives, medical professionals, and residents gathered to celebrate this milestone, marking the expansion of healthcare services in Cutler Bay.

Attendees heard from several distinguished speakers, including Mayor Tim Meerbott, Baptist Health executives Nancy Batista-Rodriguez, Dr. Jonathan Fialkow, Dr. Michael McDermott, and Roberta Stokes, Chair of the Baptist Outpatient Services Board. Also in attendance were Councilmembers BJ Duncan, Suzy Lord, Richard Ramirez, and Town Manager Rafael Casals, who joined the ceremony and toured the facility.

“We are proud to have Baptist Health expanding in Cutler Bay, bringing comprehensive healthcare services right into our community,” said Meerbott. “No more driving north to Kendall or South Miami—our residents now have access to primary care, urgent care, diagnostic imaging, and brain and spine care, all under one roof. Baptist Health is not only a leader in healthcare but also a tremendous community partner, investing in wellness programs, free health screenings, and educational classes for our residents.”

The new facility offers various essential healthcare services, including primary care routine and preventive care, as well as management of chronic conditions. There is urgent care, treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, available daily from 9 am to 9 pm, and diagnostic imaging, on-site CT scans, and digital X-rays for fast and accurate diagnoses. There are also brain and spine care and neurology specialists to provide expert care for neurological disorders. Nancy Batista-Rodriguez, CEO of Baptist Outpatient Services, expressed excitement about opening Baptist Health’s 21st urgent care center in South Florida, furthering its mission of serving local communities.
