The American Business Women’s Association welcomed new leadership and new members during its recent meeting, pairing the installation of officers with a discussion about the responsibilities that come with leadership. Guest speaker Pamela Malone, known as “Lady P,” addressed members on the “Responsibilities of Leadership.” Her presentation offered a timely message as the association prepared to recognize the women who will help guide the organization forward. Mary Ferrand, a past president of the association, conducted the installation ceremony and formally welcomed the organization’s new slate of officers. Patricia Miller will serve as president, joined by Vice President Adrian Faulk, Secretary Yeleandrette Pendleton, Treasurer Susan Rubio-Rivera and Corresponding Secretary Meeja Ritchie-Smith. The ceremony represented both continuity and growth for the association, with an experienced past president participating in the transition while a new group of officers stepped into leadership roles. The organization also welcomed three new members: Tania Burns, Myrna Cotto and Leatrice “Lisa” Perry-Bethune. The addition of new members comes as the association continues bringing professional women together through leadership development, networking, mentorship and community involvement. Malone’s presentation complemented the installation ceremony by emphasizing that leadership extends beyond holding a title. It also includes the responsibility to serve, communicate and strengthen the people and organizations around a leader. For the newly installed officers, the meeting marked the beginning of another chapter for the association. The introduction of Burns, Cotto and Perry-Bethune also reflected continued interest in its work. With new leadership in place and its membership continuing to grow, the American Business Women’s Association enters its next year focused on professional development, service and creating opportunities for women to connect and support one another.

New leadership, growing membership and renewed opportunities for women to connect, serve and succeed.
