Sun and Moon

The April 15th eclipse, also called the Blood Moon, was the first of four that will occur over the next 18 months. The remaining three will take place October 2014, April 2015, and September 2015. While the eclipse can be viewed with the naked eye, the use of binoculars or a low power telescope enhances the view and the dramatic change. The viewer observing the eclipse in a dark location will notice as the moon darkens, more stars become visible. A portion of the Milky Way was revealed during the peak of the eclipse.
