Richard T. Meury passed away on Sunday, February 11th, 2024, at the age of 91.
Richard was born on January 25th, 1933, in Stamford, Connecticut. Richard was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, loved by all who met and knew him.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Meury, father, Joseph Meury, and mother, Helen Keisel Meury. Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Racquel Meury, Homestead, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Robert Ares, Mt. Zion, IL., son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Meryanne Meury, Homestead, FL, as well as 4 grandchildren, Daniel Ares, Jason Meury, TJ Meury, Andres Cardenas, and 3 great-granddaughters, Genesis, Adelaide, and Viana.
Richard was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the Air Force after 20+ years. He retired as a Tech Sergeant from Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts. Richard was then employed with Broward County Parks and Recreation in Florida, where he retired after many years of service. Richard loved spending time on his baseball card collection and stamp collection, and was a huge fan of all sports.
Richard was known to his grandkids and great-grandkids as "Papa" and "Great-Granddad" and loved spending time with each one of them. He is greatly missed!
