Our dear loved one, Pamela Hobby Champion Caves, sadly passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2023.
She was 71 years young. She was born to James Purvis and Martha Henrietta Hobby on February 29, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Pam was a compassionate spirit, whose passion was caring for others. She always made time for everyone and provided unconditional love and support.
She was a cherished member of our Homestead community for most of her life. Pam cared deeply for her family and friends.
She often stayed connected as much as possible through social media and frequent face-time calls with those she loved.
Pam graduated from South Dade Senior High in 1970, where she enjoyed being part of their cheerleading program. She worked in our local agricultural industry for many years.
She initially married Stan Champion in 1974 and became the proud mother of Shannan Finocchiaro and Kevin Champion, both of whom blessed her with grandchildren and even her first great-grandchild.
Once a grandmother, Pam became best known as Mema, a term of endearment that she absolutely loved. Pam was remarried to Charlie Caves in 1995 and became a second mother to his children, Chris and Christina Caves. Both also have children who have known her as their Mema all their lives as well.
Pam was blessed with many friends who became family, and she treasured her extended family. Pam was a devoted wife, dearly loved mom, fabulous sister, valued friend, and an amazing Mema to so many.
She was the best person to have cheering you on in life, a loyal friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Pam is survived by her husband: Charlie Caves; daughter and son-in-law: Shannan and Sal Finocchiaro, their children: Brittany, Salvi, and Juliana, and great-grandchild Gianna; son: Kevin Champion and his children: Brennan and Taylin. Stepchildren and their children: Chris Caves and his wife Cathleen; children: Cara and Robbie, Christina and her children: Joseph, Jason, Perry, and Michael.
