Our beloved mother, Maggie Bates, at the age of 87, from Homestead, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2025.
She was a loving wife of 52 years to Elton, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Sheila and Brenda Bates, Precilla Bryant (Wayne), Lynda Quigg (Charlie), Paul Lucero (Lynn). Grandfur babies, Sugar, Honey, Jazmine, Stella, and Sissy. Her grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She loved cooking, bingo, and enjoying the day at Miccosukee. She belonged to several organizations. She was past President of the GFC Woman's Club of Homestead, past Senior Region of the Woman's Club of the Moose, the American Legion, and the VFW.
Visitation will be held on April 4th, 2025, at Branam Funeral Home, Homestead, from 4 pm-7 pm, followed by friends and family to honor and celebrate Maggie's life from 7 pm-8 pm.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom, and love. Maggie will especially be remembered for her beautiful, fiery spirit and her love for everyone she met.
