Jose

With deep sorrow and abiding love, the family of Jose Cardenal Vivas announces his passing on October 6, 2025, at the age of 84.

Jose was a devoted husband, cherished father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He is survived by his loving wife Martha, sons Jose Ignacio, Juan Carlos, and Mauricio Eugenio, and nine grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Born in Nicaragua, Jose embodied the spirit of resilience and determination. He immigrated to the United States with a vision to create a better life for his family—a dream he fulfilled with grace, integrity, and tireless effort. He was a proud alumnus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned his degree and laid the foundation for a lifetime of success.

For over four decades, Jose served as President of Richards Tractors & Implements, leading the company with unwavering dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. His leadership not only contributed to the company’s growth but also left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of working with him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jose was a passionate big game hunter, a pursuit that brought him great joy and many adventures.

Jose’s legacy is one of hard work, deep family values, and steadfast love. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him, but his impact will live on through the countless lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Centro Juvenil Don Bosco (donbosco.edu.ni).
