Championship Cup Series Motorcycle Racing Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend

Local riders highlight Florida Region competition

Florida’s premier motorcycle competition is returning to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 for regional racing in the Championship Cup Series. Riders from North and South America will compete in a total of 19 races throughout the two-day event.

2016 Overall Expert runner-up Lucas Silva of Miami, will enter the weekend holding the championship lead over Charlie Mavros, Tampa, and Stefano Mesa, Boca Raton. Riders will contest the 14 turn, 2.21-mile road course at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Gates open on Saturday at 7:00 a.m., with practice and time trials running from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Gates will open on Sunday at 7:00 a.m., with practice running from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m., and races beginning at 9:30 a.m. General admission and pit pass tickets are available for purchase at Gate 18, allowing fans into the infield for $15 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday. Two-day passes are $30, with children 12 years and younger admitted for free. Parking is free all weekend.
