When anyone living in and enjoying the freedoms given within the borders of the United States of America defiles,

disrespects or destroys our Constitution, Flag, the National Anthem or any symbol of this great nation, they need to take a refresher course in History 101. No nation has ever existed or offered more liberties then this country.

The Founders of the United States set out with the purpose of creating a nation where all men (people) are created equal under God with that assurance guaranteed by government. Yes, there have been short comings along the way, caused by misinterpretation coupled with lack of enforcement of the constitution, but the principles stated in the original document were not at fault.

Our nation, under the guidelines of the constitution, have overcome some dark periods including religious persecution, inequality for women and of course slavery.

Today and every day to come, there will be more and more challenges to the constitution, it’s interpretation and enforcement. One of the most pressing issues is police brutality and racial inequality which are strict violations of the US constitution.

There is no question that some of this exists in our society along with other violations to the “Law of the Land,” but protesting against the very document that detests such action, dishonoring the songs and symbols of this nation is not the proper solution. Such protest only leads to additional separation and disrespect among the races.

Take a look at the reaction of the public to the recent protest by several Dolphin players at a pre-season game. It caused more harm then good as many fans and several fraternal organizations are beginning to boycott professional football, turning to college sports where entertainment is not tainted by politics and social issues.

According to the Palm Beach County PBA, “We entered into this partnership with the understanding that the Dolphins Organization would require their players to stand for the National Anthem. This did not happen. As a result, the Palm Beach County PBA will no longer participate in this ticket program...”

Realize you are only inflicting economic damage to your livelihood and professional sports while creating resentment towards your cause by disgracing the heart and soul of this country that so many 2018 have given their lives to preserve. I suggest you re-evaluate your destructive tactics. Our nation does not need sensationalism, it needs positive solutions.

Players and protesters, think of all the opportunities this great nation has given you. Use some of your gifts and assets in constructive ways. Rebuild failing neighborhoods. Help those in need through education and examples of UNITY not SEPARATION. Use positive tactics to ensure change. You will get support! Then, when you decide to kneel, get down on both knees and give thanks to God that you were born in the United States of America. After all, we were formed as “One Nation Under God” weren’t we?
