When Kyle Busch captured the checkered flag at the end of the ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this past Sunday, the countdown to Miami continued as there are now only seven races until the NASCAR circuit reaches Miami. And as we head into the third race of the Round of 16 this weekend at Dover International Speedway, it is just another reminder that Ford Championship weekend is right around the corner.

Looking ahead to the three-day event, it is without a doubt that the championship races in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be headlining events that weekend. And though the main draw during Ford Championship Weekend are those combined 900 miles of racing throughout all three series, there are also plenty of activities for all fans to enjoy outside of the action-packed racing on the 1.5-mile oval.

In anticipation for Ford Championship Weekend, November 17-19, below are some of the activities fans can look forward to when attending:

Pre-Race Concert

There are many traditions that take place over Ford Championship Weekend. One of the most exciting is the pre-race concert. In previous years, we have had special live performances prior to the Monster Energy Series Ford EcoBoost 400 championship race from The Band Perry (2016), Tim McGraw (2015), Jason Aldean (2014), Dierks Bentley (2013) and Kid Rock (2012). All fans with a pre-race pit pass will have access to enjoy this year’s concert from the track’s front stretch. Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2017 pre-race concert.

This year marks the fifth annual Ford Car show at Homestead-Miami Speedway where fans and car clubs are invited to show off their

personal Ford vehicles on Sunday, November 19. A panel of judges, comprised of NASCAR industry celebrities, will evaluate all of the entrants for a variety of prize categories, including “Best in Show.” Last year’s celebrities included Jack Roush and Edsel Ford II. For those interested in showing off their personal Ford vehicles during Ford Championship Weekend, please contact Brandon Ward at (305) 230-5228 or bward@homesteadmiamispeedway.com.

FanVision Fan Zone

Homestead-Miami Speedway offers fans exclusive experiences through packages such as the FanVision Fan Zone package. Through this ticket package fans receive a pre-race pit pass, complimentary buffet lunch and unlimited Coca-Cola products. The FanVision Fan Zone also

gives fans access to special driver appearances on Saturday and Sunday.

Richard Petty Birthday Celebration

This year, fans attending the XFINITY Series Ford EcoBoost 300 on November 18 will have the unique opportunity to party with NASCAR’s winningest driver. Seven-time Monster Energy Series champion Richard Petty will be hosting a birthday party as part of a year-long celebration of his 80th birthday. Fans who purchase this special ticket package will also have the chance for an exclusive meet and greet, and Q&A sessions with the NASCAR legend.

BIG 105.9 Tailgate Zone

The BIG 105.9 Tailgate Zone is home for all tailgating enthusiasts during Ford Championship Weekend. In this designated area, friends and family get to grill, eat and drink inside the gates of the Speedway. In addition, BIG 105.9 provides music and entertainment for tailgaters all weekend.

Giant Beer Pong and Cornhole Tournament

The 2017 NASCAR playoffs will reach its pinnacle at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and now fans can also leave Ford Championship Weekend as a champion. Fans can grab their partner and sign up for a unique camp ground cornhole tournament, where teams will square off in a playoff style bracket. The winner of the tournament will head home with coveted Ford Championship Weekend cornhole boards.

In addition, fans can leave their ping pong balls at home, as players will attempt to toss a kickball into their opponents giant solo cup from 25 feet away. Giant beer pong will be available for fans beginning Friday morning in the GEICO Camp Ground.

Display and Activations

For fans navigating around the Speedway during Ford Championship Weekend, there are a number of activations and displays available for entertainment throughout the grounds. Sponsors such as Ford and Coca-Cola set up large footprints that allows fans to interact with the companies. The displays also provide live entertainment and giveaways for fans throughout the weekend.

RV Lot Stage

When the sun goes down at Ford Championship Weekend, fans can round out the evening with some live music in the campground area courtesy of several local bands. Fans can check out the RV Lot Stage throughout the weekend for special jam sessions.
