Understanding and Managing Asthma

(Family Features) Asthma is a chronic condition that affects the tubes carrying air in and out of the lungs. For people with asthma, the airways can become inflamed and narrowed at times, making it harder to breathe. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1 in 13 people in the United States has asthma and people of all ages can be affected. For reasons not entirely understood, rates of asthma vary among different groups. However, asthma doesn’t have to stop you from leading a full and active life.
