JOHN PAUL HOBSON (Hobbie), 69, born in Arlington, Va, and three months later being a life long resident of South Florida.

Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and friend to all, John passed away on July 05, 2017.

John is survived by his loving wife and friend of 25 plus years, Sue, his children Johnny, and Dawn, from a previous marriage, along with four Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers Carlton and Albert.

John retired after almost four decades with Florida Power and Light in Homestead, FL, as a Nuclear Engineer.

What can truly be defined as his "sunset" years, John spent these years with Sue, in Roatan, Honduras, where they built their dream home on the Caribbean Sea, with an open door to all. He could always be picked out of the crowd, as he prided himself in having the brightest island style shirts.

One of his greatest passions was his love of the sea, and anything related to it. To understand this fully, you simply had to read the name of his boat... Captain Germ. When asked why he christened the vessel as such, he replied, "It brings death on the water," referencing his love of fishing, which was ingrained in him from a young child by his Father, Carlton, his brothers, and which he passed along to his son.

He will be fondly remembered for his generous donations to those in need, particularly children who had been orphaned.

John will be greatly missed by his family, and many who had the opportunity to enjoy his hospitality.
