Jeffrey James Morris, 51, of Florahome, was tragically killed in a vehicular accident on January 3, 2019. His beloved dog “Circle” riding with him, was also killed.

Jeff had suffered from Lyme Disease for several years but recently was feeling much better. Just prior to his death he had been working to finish remodeling his home. He had worked in the plumbing, electrical and carpentry fields. He was previously employed as a surety agent and a recovery agent in the bail bond business.

Jeff was a musician and played guitar and piano. He had collected several guitars and was very proud of them. Born November 8, 1967, Jeff lived in Homestead most of his life. He had accepted Christ as a child, was a professed Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Homestead. He was a 1985 graduate of South Dade High School.

When his parents moved to Palm Coast, they hoped Jeffrey would move there with them, but he had made dear friends in Florahome and felt that was where he wanted to be, so in 2016 he bought some property with a small home there that he was remodeling. He had planted several fruit trees as he had a “green thumb” and had a gift to make things grow. It seemed the future was bright, but he was called home and is now with his Savior and many loved ones. He will be missed greatly, but he is now where all is joy with music and beauty beyond belief.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, Jim Morris; his sister, Elizabeth Kay Morris; his step-father, William Wheat; his grandparents Ben and Edna Morris and W.L. and Maynita Ferrell.

Surviving are his mother, Donna Morris Wheat; and two nephews, Ryan and Matt.

A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20 at Living Hope Worship Center in Florahome with Pastor David Spedden officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Everyone is invited to dress in casual wear.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the charity of choice in Jeffery’s name.
