Diane Phillips passed away on 1/1/18 in Orlando, FL. She was born Diane Ferrar in Rhode Island on January 4, 1942 to Anthony and Ann Ferrar.
She was raised in Florida City, FL with her four brothers and sisters and attended South Dade Senior High. Later she married and had her first child Dion (Donnie) Cole. After her divorce she opened and operated the first unisex hair salon in Homestead, The Fe-Male Place. Her second marriage was to Calvin (Gene) Phillips whom was in the Air Force. She went on to live in Aurora, Colorado, where her second child Gina Phillips was born, then Rantoul, Illinois. Their final station was at Homestead AFB where they resettled until 2017.
Diane was loved by all who knew her. People gravitated to her. She was boisterous, fun-loving and the life of any party. Her sense of humor and laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an extraordinary woman, a dying breed who always put family first and was always there with wise words or comfort, a rock.
A small service immediately followed by a celebration of life will take place on Saturday 1/13/18 at 29480 SW 193rd Ave Homestead, FL 33030 at 3pm.
She joins her husband Calvin (Gene) Phillips, and is survived by her children Gina Phillips and Donnie Cole; her grandson Zachary Cole; her brothers and sisters Robert (Butch) Ferrar, Mark Ferrar, Toni Ferrar Kubousek, David Ferrar and many nieces, nephews and family members that will carry her in their hearts.
