Clara De Luria, formerly of New Castle, PA and Homestead, FL passed away

surrounded by her loving family on April 8, 2018 at her home in Alpharetta, GA, at the age of 102.

Born Carmela Di Giddio in New Castle, she was the oldest of five siblings and was known as Clara from an early age. She chose to end her formal

education before going to high school in order to help her parents work the family farm during the Depression.

She married Louis DeLuria and together they raised five children who were always most important in her life. In 1957, she and Louis left their roots and extended families behind to move to the Miami area with the hopes that the tropical climate would be better suited for the health of their youngest child.

Clara left Homestead in 2004 to live near children who had moved to the Alpharetta area. She was blessed to live independently in her own home until her death.

Clara was predeceased by husband Louis, her brothers Arthur and Norman, sister Antonette and her daughters, Louise and Rosalie. She is survived by her sister Betty Sylvester, daughters, Joan Brown, Julie Pearce (Gary), son Robert (Rebecca), seven adored grandchildren, nine cherished great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, April 21 at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. She will be interred with Louis and Louise at Woodlawn Park South in Miami at a later date.
