Audrey J. Pendergrass passed into eternal life on October 26, 2018.

Audrey was born on June 23, 1924 to Harry and Ethel Johnson in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She later mover to St. Petersburg, Florida where she met and married her husband, Maj. Walter K. Pendergrass.

She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They moved to Homestead, Florida where they raised their four children.

Audrey was an active member of Silver Palm United Methodist Church and served as the organist there, and in other churches. After their family was raised Audrey and Walter moved to Mulberry, Florida where they forged many close friendships. Following the death of her husband, Audrey moved to Jacksonville, Florida.

Audrey is survived by her children, Arthur (Lola) Pendergrass of West Palm Beach, Patricia (Bruce) Howarth of Homestead, Janet Plapp of Jacksonville, and Barbara Leach of Centre, Alabama. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great­grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, brother Wayne Johnson, son-in-law Dr. Thomas Leach, and grandson Byron Plapp.

Audrey was a valued resident in the Westminster Woods community of Jacksonville where she made may close friends and will be deeply missed. Services were held at Westminster Woods.
