Two Dead in Redland Shooting

According to police reports, the Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is investigating a shooting between neighbors on Saturday, May 5th that resulted in two people dead and one critically injured.

From the investigation police have determined that three men where involved in a verbal dispute, outside, at their fence line. The shootings occured at SW 274th Street, in the Redland, just north of the Homestead Airport.

During the dispute, two of the individuals produced firearms and shots were fired, striking all three men.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were called to the scene and two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene: Guillermo Martinez, 78, and Arian Loo, 35. A third man, Miguel Angel Jorge, 50, was airlifted to JMH-South Trauma Center in serious condition. Police have been unable to question him at press time do to the seriousness of his medical condition.

The motive for the dispute is still unknown. The investigation will continue pending the Medical Examiners report and the condition of the surviving victim.
