This year, the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department celebrates 90 years of inspiring people to Live A Park Life, and everyone is invited to the year-long party!

Visit the web page for a list of celebrations and be sure to mark your calendar for this mega family fun “Day in the Park” event on Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at park locations county-wide.

Throughout these 90 years, the Parks Department has been there for families through the generations, providing opportunities to gather for high quality sports, recreation, community events, and environmental activities that identify our park systems' unique natural, cultural and historical heritage.

Homestead Bayfront Park, 9698 North Canal Drive, Homestead.

Activities will take place at the Atoll pool and include:

• Free! Music DJ, live performances, and a bounce house.

• Discounted kayak, canoe, and bike rentals

• Discounted food at La Playa Grill

Parking: $7-car

29th Annual Asian Culture Festival - Fruit & Spice Park, 

24801 SW 187 Ave., Homestead

Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and includes: Asian crafts, art, exotic music and dance, and vendors selling a tasty selection of authentic Far Eastern cuisine. Admission fee: $12-adult, $5-child (ages 6-12); Free for kids age 5 and under.

Crandon Park, 6747 Crandon Blvd, Miami – Lot#4

Activities will take place at open space between Amusement Area and Crandon Gardens, and include:

• Volunteer beach clean-up, 9 a.m.-noon

• Free! Nature walks and a scavenger hunt, ; games, carousel rides, roller-skating rink (bring your skates), music, and prizes (while supplies last).

• Discounted chair and umbrella rentals, courtesy of Lighthouse Watersport Rentals.

Parking: $7

Haulover Beach Park, 0800 Collins Ave., Miami (Bill Bird Marina entrance)

Activities will take place at the kite field (marina parking lot area) and include:

• Food truck vendors, courtesy of Miami Food Truck Events

• Sea turtle display and activities, courtesy of EcoAdventures

• Free! Music, a bounce house, games, popcorn, snow cones; and kids’

activities, courtesy of Miami Kids Collective.

• Electric bike demos and discounted rentals, courtesy of Electribike

• Discounted kites by Skyward Kites

Parking: free (at event area)

Annual Archaeology Day, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72 Ave., Palmetto Bay

10 a.m.-4 p.m. and includes: Archaeology demonstrations, activity booths, and walking tours of the natural areas. Admission: $10-adult, $7-child (ages 4-14); Free for kids 3 and under.
