Accelerate South Dade is a small business and nonprofit incubator operating in partnership with Neighbors and Neighbors Association, Inc. located at 10700 Caribbean Blvd. Cutler Bay. Currently, the incubator houses eight for-profit entrepreneurs and three nonprofit organizations. All tenants are from South Dade and provide services or conduct business primarily in South Dade.
Businesses and nonprofits are incubated for a period of 15-24 months before they graduate, scale up and move out. There are two in-house consultants and business coaches that work one-on-one with each entrepreneur. All incubator tenants have the opportunity to participate in the District 8 Small Business Academy, an intensive 14-week long training series facilitated by Partners for Self-Employment, Inc.
The purpose of the incubator and the Small Business Academy is to provide vital training and resources not otherwise readily accessible to new and existing small businesses in Southern Miami-Dade County. The incubator and the Academy strive to give small business owners the tools and information they need to increase sales, hire more employees and thrive in the South Dade community. Both feature innovative workshops and training which are administered by leading business development agencies in South Florida. Business owners who participate in either the incubator or the Academy are provided with linkages to a network of public and private resources such as business advisers, financial consultants, and small business lenders.
Accelerate South Dade and the District 8 Small Business Academy are both part of a larger economic development and marketing initiative, SOUTH DADE | MORE TO EXPLORE. Through this marketing campaign, the goal is to attract new businesses to the South Dade community and grow those businesses who already call South Dade their home.
