Fall of coarse means the start of good times with the best of tailgate food we can make to enjoy. It’s all about food, friends and a great atmosphere while you cheer on your favorite team.

Even if you are not into football, you are guaranteed to some of the best times with these crowd-pleasing recipes. These delicious football game day food ideas are sure to score you a touchdown with your team.

Black Eyed Peas and Cheese Dip

Black-eyed Peas and Cheese Dip

2 cans (15oz) black-eyed peas, drained well

½ Cup red bell pepper, chopped

½ green bell pepper, chopped

4 scallions, chopped

1 cup white shoe peg corn

¼ cup cilantro, chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 fresh clove garlic, crushed

3 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice

1 teaspoon cumin

1 jalapeno pepper, chopped (optional)

4 ounces Monterey Jack Cheese, cubed

4 ounces Cheddar cheese cubed

Mix together. Serve with chips of your choice. Serves 6

Quacamole

Guacamole with Crispy Chips

4 large, ripe

Juice of 1 to 2 fresh limes

1 to 2 jalapeno peppers

1 medium onion, chopped

½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 clove fresh minced garlic

Salt to taste

Halve avocados and remove seeds. Using a spoon, scoop avocado into bowl. Add lime juice to avocados and mash roughly with fork. Using a spatula, fold in jalapeno peppers, chopped onion, cilantro and salt. Check seasonings: add more lime juice and salt as needed. Chill 1 hour and serve with chips. Serves 4.

Cranberry Horseradish Roast Beef Sandwich

Cranberry, Horseradish Roast Beef Sandwiches

1 loaf French Bread

1 pound thinly sliced roast beef deli meat

1 carton alfalfa sprouts

2 (8 ounces) packages of cream cheese

1 can whole cranberry sauce (can use homemade)

1 tablespoon horseradish

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

Slice bread lengthwise. Combine in bowl cream cheese, cranberry sauce, horseradish and mayonnaise. Spread half of mixture on bottom side of bread. Pile roast beef on top and then alfalfa sprouts on the top of roast beef. Spread the rest of the cream cheese cranberry mixture on top side of bread. Cut in two-inch wedges. Chill and serve. Serves 8.

Queen’s Tip: To add more spirit to you tailgate party, pull out bright dishes and napkins in your team’s colors for serving, and set everything up buffet-style so that guests can graze as they please
