Many of you may have already heard that three Oriental Fruit Flies were trapped in the agricultural area of Homestead. Up to now, there's no quarantine because all of them are males.

However, FDACS and the USDA are starting an aggressive spray and trap program to eradicate them. If there's any update about it, I will let you know.

For public awareness, two workshops in both English and Spanish have been scheduled for next Wednesday, June 13th: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in English, and 2:00 – 4:00 PM in Spanish.

What: Oriental Fruit Fly Update

When: Wednesday, June 13, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (English); and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Spanish)

Where: UF/IFAS Miami-Dade Extension at 18710 SW 288th ST, Homestead, FL
