Boy Scout Troop 69 is holding its 69th Annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser at the Scout Hut on Plummer Drive, between 152 Ave and 157 Ave., this Saturday, Oct.13th from 4:30 -7:30 pm.

Troop 69 has been in continuous existence since 1946; several generations have passed through the program and they have been a big part of South Dade’s history.

The Spaghetti Dinner is their one and only fundraiser for the year, covering all direct expenses incurred by the Troop. Each year theyserve 900-1000 people in an outdoor setting with the scouts themselves providing table service to the guests. Everyone enjoys seeing old friends and meeting new ones, as they come and support the program by attending this delicious spaghetti dinner.

Contact Diane Snider at (305) 632-3253 or the Scoutmaster, Brad Hadley at 786-329-1683 with questions.

This family tradition is much more than some of the best spaghetti young scouts and their parents can produce. The tradition is a time for families to gather and enjoy each other's company in the wooded area where the only care might be the occasional mosquito.

If you're among the few that have not attended this wonderful event, imagine sitting at very long tables surrounded by family and friends and new friends to be made. Imagine those tables surrounded by trees and stretching through the wooded areas in every direction. Now imagine over 1,000 people chowing down on this great home cooked meal. Don't worry, there is plenty of room for everyone and they will not run out of food.

For you healthy eaters, don't think they'll shut you off after your first shirt stain.

The dinner is all-you-can eat spaghetti, garlic bread and salad with iced tea, lemonade and coffee.

Did we mention the desserts that would make your grandma proud?

In a hurry…have a kids game to get to? No worries; you can get your dinner to go. It's still only $8 for Mom and Dad and $5 for the kids under 12.
