Obituary - Kenneth Wayne Poteet Sr.

Kenneth Wayne Poteet Sr., 86, of Acworth, Ga., passed away September 3, 2018, surrounded by family.

Ken was born on December 8, 1931, in Springfield, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and retired following 20 years of military service.

He was also employed as a pilot for National Airlines, Pan Am, Kalitta Air, and Air Force Reserve. He started Ken’s Flying Service in Homestead, Fla., where he pursued his passion for flying. Ken also participated in several mission trips to the Caribbean with Christian Pilots Association.

He lived all over the country but resided in Homestead, FL., for almost 50 years before moving to the Atlanta area, where he lived near family during the past few years.

Ken is preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Barbara Camilla Poteet (Rigdon).

Survivors include his son Kenneth Wayne Poteet, Jr., and his wife Jennifer Poteet (Price), of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; daughter Jennifer Kilpatrick and her

husband James Kilpatrick, Sr., of Acworth, Ga.; grandchildren Kelley Poteet, Paige Poteet, James “J.J.” Kilpatrick, Jr., Kenneth Kilpatrick, Calvin Kilpatrick, and Jared Kilpatrick.
